Title: In Total Surrender

Series: Secrets #3
Release Date: September 27th, 2011
Publisher: Harper Collins
Age: Adult
Andreas Merrick is the king of London's dark underworld, having amassed unimaginable wealth and power...and a fierce reputation that leaves even the bravest men quaking in their boots. Yet one person is maddeningly unintimidated by his fearsome presence: the persistent Miss Phoebe Pace.
Equal parts honey and steel, Phoebe will stop at nothing to find her missing brother and save her family. Though associating with Andreas means peril and scandal, she never expects to experience a passion so intense that it threatens to consume her. But enigmatic Andreas is no ordinary man to love. He brings dangers from all sides -- without and within -- while tempting her beyond her wildest dreams...
Andreas Merrick is a bad man. He has wealth and power, and everyone is afraid of him, except Phoebe Pace.

Phoebe Pace wants to find her missing brother, even when that means associating with Andreas, the only man who can sure know where is him.

I'm still not sure if I liked Phoebe. I have to say, she's brave and determinate. She didn't let Andreas ignore her, even if he threatens her. But she was practically a pest to him, and I think she only survived because Andreas liked her (not sure why).

But Andreas was awesome. He has a very difficult past, and it made him the man he is now. Strong, sometimes cruel. But for some reason he can't seem to ignore Phoebe Pace and her lips.

Their romance took a little bit of time to start and it was so twisted with Phoebe's family issues that I was constantly confused. Was Andreas bad or good? Did Phoebe know what Andreas did? I think maybe it would have been easier to me to understand it if I would have read the previous books of the series...

But still, I liked the book because Andreas is one of my favorite male characters. Even when he realized he loved Phoebe, he kept being the dark Andreas.

Overall, In Total Surrender was an enjoyable romance book. I wished it would have been easier to grasp the story, but Andreas is totally worth the reading.

  2. I actually kind of like those dark and brooding men. Andreas sounds like one of those men. I'm curious to know what it is about Pheobe that draws him. Nice review.

  3. Nice review! I am curious what it is about Phoebe that draws him also. And you know what they say about those bad boys - they make the best husbands once they find the right woman ;-)

  4. I have been wanting to get this book. I really enjoyed ONE NIGHT IS NEVER ENOUGH and want to read more by this author. Andreas was a secondary character in that book and I am very interested in learning more about him.
