Release Date: March 27th 2012
Publisher: Forever
Age: Adult
SCANDALOUS DESIRES . . .
Amy Hardwick has one last Season to shake off her wallflower image and make a love match. If she can't, she'll set aside her dreams of romance and return home to a suitor who can provide security-if little else. What she doesn't count on is the inappropriate-and irresistible-attention lavished on her in a darkened library by rake extraordinaire Will "The Devil" Darcett . . .
DEVILISH DELIGHT
When Will is caught in a tryst with the ton's shyest miss, he knows he must offer for her hand. Yet Amy is not the shrinking violet she seems to be. Passion lies beneath her prim exterior and Will is eager to release it. But winning Amy isn't simply a matter of seduction; first, Will must convince her that he's mended his wicked ways . . .
I was impatiently waiting for Amy Hardwick story, she was a wallflower from the begging of this series and had no prospect of getting married. But she stared to talk more and make an impression, and I was sure  that when I read this book she was going to be stronger than anyone.

Amy has changed. It's her last season and she's the most fashionable lady of the ton. She has friends and feels good, but still no one asks her to dance, expect Will 'the devil' Darcett. She hates him since she met him at her best friend wedding....but she can't stop noticing how attractive he is.

Will just want to keep traveling around the world with his best friend, but his family is not giving him more money. He has to work, or win at gambling...or compromise an heiress. I liked Will, but also I didn't think he deserved to be called 'the devil'. He was naughty and thought about compromising Amy, but in the end nothing happened like he expected it. He's attracted to Amy and isn't sad about their new life together, but also don't expect nothing about it.

Like the previous books from this series, How to Marry a Duke and How to Seduce a Scoundrel, I thought it was missing more passion. Will and Amy could have been an explosive couple, Amy wasn't as shy as the previous books but I couldn't see what Will liked about her. Also, the first half of the book was a little bit slow and made me loose interest in Amy and Will...I was rather hoping for more story about Georgette, Amy's friend.

Overall, I didn't love  How to Ravish a Rake, but still enjoyed it and liked how I could see Amy and Will's love grow. I only wish there was an epilogue or something more, because the ending felt very abrupt to me, and I wanted to see more of Will and Amy as a real couple.

  1. Historicals are not often books that I like. I really have a hard time getting into them. Too bad this wasn't mind blowing! Great review though! :)
