Welcome 2013!! ~ Reading Goals

2012 was great, but my reading was lower than 2011. I just read 82 books, with a lot of effort. I wanted to read 100, I know I can, so that's why my challenge for 2013 will be to read 100 books. :) Wish me good luck!

Gaby has
read 0 books toward her goal of 100 books.

BUT....I need to control my TBR pile. I have books that have been on my shelf for months (maybe years?) and I have to red them or give them away. Also, I shouldn't buy more books. That isn't so difficult, but sometimes I just can't control myself :). Anyway, I like to start my years organized, so I started at goodreads. There were books I didn't even remember, I was ready to erase everything and start over, but no.... I decided to erase the books I really wasn't interested anymore, and give a chance to those books that could be good. The books I know I'll like are the first, I need to read them ASAP. And I have two books I left unfinished, so maybe I'll start with them first.

TBR pile: 135
To Read Later: 2
Wishlist: 43

I'm sure this is going to change pretty soon, but I want to read at least half of these books by the end of the year...if not, goodbye books!

What do you think? What are your reading goals for 2013? Do yo have better ideas about how to control my TBR list? Please share them :)

  1. Good luck with your reading goal! My Goodreads goal is 100 too, but I'm afraid to count the number of books in my TBR pile! Ha!

  2. you can do it! I think your plan sounds good. Just try and pace yourself and make sure you're reading the things you're most interested in MOST of the time. i read a lot for school and review, and while I often enjoy these, I want to read more of my own books; the things I buy or were gifted personally.

  3. I plan to read at least 3,000 words a day, may be 3 books a month. I am a worker, don't have so much time reading.

  4. Wow, your TBR is small but more manageable than mine. Good luck with your reading goals this year :)
