After all, this year brought Hannah Davis nothing but the memory of her wandering fiancĂ© marrying someone else behind her back. Now, sitting alone at a bar in Coronado, California, on December 31, she decides to do something radical . . . and lets a brooding good-looker take her to bed. But when a hysterical woman bursts into their room much too early on New Year's Day, Hannah realizes this guy's more complicated than she thought . . .Ex-Secret Service Agent Tanner Hart screwed up, big-time! Hoping to temporarily boot some of the ghosts from his life, he hooked up with this sexy stranger for a hot one-night stand—only to discover she's the woman he's agreed to protect . . . from men just like him!But a new year is a time for fresh beginnings. Despite the danger, the hoopla, and the hangovers, if Hannah's brave enough to risk her heart again—and Tanner's wise enough to realize he deserves it—maybe this one will be different.
Not Another New Year's is the second book of the Holidays series by Christie Ridgway and since I loved Must Love Mistletoe, I had to read this one too.

I love to know more about the other characters from a story, so I was happy to read about Tanner, Finn's friend. He's also having a difficult time, feeling guilty for the death of a work partner and also because of the loss of his job. So when it's New Year's eve, he isn't exactly happy.

Hannah is trying to find adventure in California. She's tired of being the dumped schoolteacher, always pleasing her family. So she goes to Coronado, and when she's robbed, her only choice is to find Tanner Hart, her tour guide, and ask for his help.

After a few mojitos, she's feeling super happy and ready to forget about her ex-fiancĂ©e and spend the night with the hot blonde guy at the bar, without really knowing that both of them where going to be very surprised the next morning.

Personally, I loved this book. I think I even liked it more than the first. Hannah and Tanner were great characters, interesting enough for me to keep reading until the end. Both of them were hurt, and weren't really excited for this new year or life at all. Their relationship was sweet but very hot. They helped each other to discover themselves, and I was happy to see both of them growing and changing for better.

I was very excited to discover there was a secondary romance in this book, between Tanner's brother, Troy and Desiree. Both of them couldn't have been more different from each other, and I was following their story from the first book. I loved their romance because they have known themselves from more than a year, and they hated each other at first, so it was interesting to see how they let their walls down.

Overall, Not Another New Year's  is a very enjoyable chick lit book full of romance and a couple of hot scenes. The perfect book for those times you feel like reading something light, fun and heartwarming!
