Waiting on Wednesday # 93 - This Is Not a Test by Courtney Summers
"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
My pick: This Is Not a Test by Courtney Summers (June 19th 2012 by St. Martin's Griffin)
It’s the end of the world. Six students have taken cover in Cortege High but shelter is little comfort when the dead outside won’t stop pounding on the doors. One bite is all it takes to kill a person and bring them back as a monstrous version of their former self. To Sloane Price, that doesn’t sound so bad. Six months ago, her world collapsed and since then, she’s failed to find a reason to keep going. Now seems like the perfect time to give up. As Sloane eagerly waits for the barricades to fall, she’s forced to witness the apocalypse through the eyes of five people who actually want to live. But as the days crawl by, the motivations for survival change in startling ways and soon the group’s fate is determined less and less by what’s happening outside and more and more by the unpredictable and violent bids for life—and death—inside. When everything is gone, what do you hold on to?
I wasn't really waiting for this book until I watched the book trailer:
What do you think? Your heart is racing?
I've seen this one on one of my friends' blog and it looks really good! I'm not sure it'd be my cup of tea but I'll keep an eye on the reviews and see if I should read it or not :)

The cover is so scary/creepy! And I haven't read a lot of zombie books, while I quite enjoyed the first ones, so more is always better!

This book is seriously amazing!!! Super tense and just awesome. Great pick :P
ReplyDeleteI read This Is Not a Test back in January (or February, I'm not sure which), and I've got a review of it on my blog and all, but man, I'm always so excited to see other people excited for things I really liked. It's such a good book, and even if you "don't like zombies" or anything, if you don't think you'd be interested, there's so much more to it! It's so worth the read.
ReplyDeleteNow that I've gone on about it enough :P http://t.co/wPqsoQWA <-- my WOW, too.
This one looks so freaking good! I can't wait for it! Great pick :)
