Book Review: Ellie + Ace: The Case of the Bedtime Bandit by Tangerine Toodles and Wednesday Whistlehoot
Girl detective Ellie and her dog pal Ace will captivate and delight you with their adventures. These hilarious mysteries hook readers from the very first page. Short chapters, engaging characters, fast-paced action, and silly situations make the Ellie and Ace books a perfect fit for readers of the Heidi Heckelbeck, Junie B. Jones, Nate the Great, and Ivy and Bean books.
Ellie is a young girl who wants to be just like her father, a detective. She and her dog Ace enjoy solving mysteries and someday soon they will be famous detectives.
But first, they need to solve the mystery of who is stealing food and toys, and even a stinky shoe!
It was so easy to read about Ellie and Ace. It's a story for only a couple of minutes, with four chapters and some illustrations. At the start of the book there is a introduction for everyone who haven't read the other books, I think this was a great idea because you get the feeling you know the characters. I loved Ellie and Ace interactions, I love dogs and I think their friendship was well written.
Overall, I definitely recommend Ellie + Ace: The Case of the Bedtime Bandit for the young readers. It's the perfect length, simple to read and it won't bore you. It's a children book but it caught me from the beginning and I wouldn't mind reading more about this girl and her dog adventures.
