Opening the Meow and Furrever Cat Café to find loving homes for adorable, adoptable cats was a dream come true—but with more cats than customers, it’s quickly turning into a nightmare. If Kara can’t figure out some way to get the café out of the red, it won’t last past the holidays.Marketing guru Ben Reese may be annoyingly smart and frustratingly bossy, but when he hatches a plan to put the café in the “green” by Christmas, Kara realizes that she’d be a fool to turn down his help. And so what if he turns out to be an excellent problem solver and nerdy-hot—he can’t even handle fostering one little kitten. She needs to keep their relationship professional and focus on saving the cafe. But if Ben and Kara can set aside their differences—and find homes for all the cats by Christmas—they might discover that, by risking their hearts, they’ll have their own purr-fect holiday . . . together.
My Review:
I absolutely loved this book! If you're looking for a sweet and romantic story for the holiday season, you can’t miss this read.
Honestly, I wanted to read it because, as you know, I love animals and I’m a veterinarian. The protagonist, Kara, is also a veterinarian and co-owner of a cat café. Besides running the café, they offer cat adoptions, and she and her partner hope to open a low-cost veterinary clinic someday. However, they’re short on funds, and the café isn’t doing well. On top of that, Kara has a complicated past that makes her uncomfortable using social media to attract more customers. So, when she meets Ben, a marketing professional who doesn’t like animals, the result is nothing but friction.
Things take a turn when Ben brings in a kitten he found to put up for adoption. From there, a friendship blossoms, evolving into a marketing plan to save the café—and maybe something more.
I loved how well-written Kara and Ben were as characters. Each has a complicated past that makes their relationship challenging, but seeing them work through their issues adds depth and charm to the story. Of course, I adored the cats and completely understood Kara’s passion for working with them and wanting to achieve more in her career. Watching the café improve was so heartwarming. A few months ago, I had a bad experience with a business venture, and it’s a sadness I still carry. Thankfully, I had the support of my husband, and this was the perfect time for me to read a story of success, even if it’s fictional.
If you're looking for a romantic holiday story and you love cats, The Cat Café Christmas is an excellent choice!
