Awesome Awktopus Summer of YA Lit Challenge
The Awesome Awktopus Summer of YA List Challenge is hosted by Audrey @ holes In My brain. I need an extra push to read, and I thought this challenge would be the perfect way. It's basically a challenge to complete personal goals :)
RULES:
-Pick however many mini-challenges you want to do, then ready, set, READ! No need to post about it or sign up, though go ahead if you’d like to spread the word— go right ahead :) This is more like a personal challenge for me that I'm sharing and encouraging you guys to participate in, so it's very informal.
-A book can be used towards a maximum of 2 mini-challenges. Example: You can used Pride and Prejudice for challenges 3 & 4, but NOT 3, 4 and 7.
-You don't need a blog or anything to enter. If you are participating and do have a blog, feel free to drop a link in the comments and I'll stop by.
-Runs from June 16 to August 31
-Winners get a congratulatory virtual handshake, hug, pat on the back, and a prize of internet-ual value equating to the monetary sum of zero.
That's it! I'm not sure I'm going to be able to participate after my graduation (july, 21th) but I'll try! Anyway, the mini challenges I picked are:
- Start and finish a series or trilogy. Any genre. Maybe it’s one that you’ve always wanted to try but never have, maybe it’s one you just didn’t have time to tackle, and the 'finish' part is important.
How about The Hunger Games? I haven't read it and everybody keeps telling me it's good.
- Read 2 books for one of those other challenges that you signed up for and realized you actually haven’t gotten very far into completing it.
I'll pick two book from my Cozy Mysteries Challenge: If Walls Could Talk (Haunted Home Repair Mystery) by Juliet Blackwell and The Missing Ink (A Tattoo Shop Mystery) by Karen E. Olson.
- Read 3 stand-alone books by the same author. These books can NOT be part of a series!
I have 3 books from L.M. Preston on my TBR pile. I think it's time to read them: THE PACK, Explorer X - Alpha, Bandits.
- Buy a book for yourself as a prize for something (for surviving Monday? Yep, that counts!) and read it!
This one is my favorite :) I'll buy one as a graduation's prize!
Easy right? In case you want to participate, there are more mini challenges here.
