More than anything, she wants to live and love as an equal among the citizens of Heart, but even when Sam professes his deepest feelings, it seems impossible to overcome a lifetime of rejection. In this second book in the Newsoul trilogy, Ana discovers the truth about reincarnation and will have to find a way to embrace love and make her young life meaningful. Once again, Jodi Meadows explores the extraordinary beauty and shadowed depths of the soul in a story equal parts epic romance and captivating fantasy.
I loved Incarnate so I was eager to read the next book, Asunder. But for some reason, every time I tried to read it I just didn't click with it. I was a little bit slow at the beginning and I was kind of lost, but after a while I finally connected with the story again and actually enjoyed it.
Asunder wasn't the page turner like Incarnate was for me, it just didn't happen much until the end so I think it could have been part of the first or the final book. Anna's research was too slow and she didn't really discovered anything until the end, but I liked the changes on her relationship with Sam. I think the characters were more realistic, with more faults. I didn't like Sam in this book as much as in the previous book, but I would like to see how their relationship will develop and of course I'm dying to know what's going to happen with the new souls and the rest of them. In the end, Asunder left me satisfied and expecting a great final book for this series.
I really enjoyed this one and have been trying to read the third book for forever, but keep just not getting to it. I hope we both love the conclusion!
