Book Review: Asunder by Jodi Meadows

Asunder by Jodi Meadows
Published January 29th 2013 by Katherine Tegen Books
DARKSOULS
Ana has always been the only one. Asunder. Apart. But after Templedark, when many residents of Heart were lost forever, some hold Ana responsible for the darksouls–and the newsouls who may be born in their place.

SHADOWS
Many are afraid of Ana’s presence, a constant reminder of unstoppable changes and the unknown. When sylph begin behaving differently toward her and people turn violent, Ana must learn to stand up not only for herself but for those who cannot stand up for themselves.

LOVE
Ana was told that nosouls can’t love. But newsouls? More than anything, she wants to live and love as an equal among the citizens of Heart, but even when Sam professes his deepest feelings, it seems impossible to overcome a lifetime of rejection.

In this second book in the Newsoul trilogy, Ana discovers the truth about reincarnation and will have to find a way to embrace love and make her young life meaningful. Once again, Jodi Meadows explores the extraordinary beauty and shadowed depths of the soul in a story equal parts epic romance and captivating fantasy.
I loved Incarnate so I was eager to read the next book, Asunder. But for some reason, every time I tried to read it I just didn't click with it. I was a little bit slow at the beginning and I was kind of lost, but after a while I finally connected with the story again and actually enjoyed it.

Asunder wasn't the page turner like Incarnate was for me, it just didn't happen much until the end so I think it could have been part of the first or the final book. Anna's research was too slow and she didn't really discovered anything until the end, but I liked the changes on her relationship with Sam. I think the characters were more realistic, with more faults. I didn't like Sam in this book as much as in the previous book, but I would like to see how their relationship will develop and of course I'm dying to know what's going to happen with the new souls and the rest of them. In the end, Asunder left me satisfied and expecting a great final book for this series.

Banned Books Week Hop (Giveaway)

Welcome to the Banned Books Week Hop giveaway! Hosted by I Am A Reader, Not A Writer and I Read Banned Books . I don't believe in banning books (or anything at all). I believe that we are capable of thinking for ourselves and we are able (and have the right) to choose what we want to read/see/think/believe. The Banned Books Week is basically a week where readers decide to defend their right to read whatever they want. It's the perfect week to decide four yourself it you want to read read that book some people is tying to challenge or ban... Intellectual freedom—the freedom to access information and express ideas, even if the information and ideas might be considered unorthodox or unpopular—provides the foundation for Banned Books Week. BBW stresses the importance of ensuring the availability of unorthodox or unpopular viewpoints for all who wish to read and access them.  More information about the Banned Books Week here. I'm sure there is a lot to say about
